AI sees faces
"AI Sees Faces" is an art project that examines the phenomenon of AI Pareidolia - the ability of neural networks to perceive images and patterns in random stimuli.
Despite ongoing efforts to create General Artificial Intelligence remains a goal for scientists. Nevertheless, current technologies have been able to imitate a wide range of human brain functions, and in some cases, even outperform human capabilities. However, as AI has grown more sophisticated, it has also become capable of making mistakes.
This project delves into the implications of these errors in AI perception through a collection of photographic images showcasing instances when a neural network mistakenly detects human faces. The project encourages viewers to consider the impact of AI on our understanding of perception and rethink the trust in the algorithms we use.
